I'm a Big Girl Now

I was sitting here last night, and it hit me that my baby girl is turning ONE in just about six weeks.  When did that happen???  This has seriously been the fastest year of my life.  Although there was a lot of fear and anxiety in the first several weeks of Kennedy's life, I am so happy that I'm able to stay at home with her and truly enjoy every moment with her.  I cherish every day, no matter how routine it is.  And it only gets better.  Gone are the days where we just lay around and snuggle.  But watching her face light up at the park, or while we're playing with all of her new toys, is just as wonderful.  I love to watch her learn and explore.

Today we tried out her new bike for the first time.  I keep looking at the picture that I snapped on my phone and I can't help but realize just how big she's getting.  She really isn't a baby anymore.  She's a little girl now.  A beautiful and amazing little girl.

Life has changed so much in the past year.  We have experienced things we never imagined, and we've overcome things that most people don't face in a lifetime.  Some things went as planned.  And some things didn't go quite as planned.  In the end, a lot of things that once seemed like a big deal, really ended up not being so major at all.  Kennedy is going to make an amazing big sister.  I'm so excited to see her with her little sister or brother.  Of course, we may have to work on the way she gives kisses before the baby arrives.  It's hard to believe I'm already into the *double digits.*  It seemed like my pregnancy with Kennedy went by so slowly, and this one is flying by.  Just like the past year did.

  1. She is absolutely adorable! Love the bike! What brand is it? Second pregnancies go by so much don't have time to sit still :-) A 3rd is even faster. Enjoy it!

  2. It's the SmartTrike 3-in-1 bike. We got it at Toys R Us, but I know Amazon also carries it! She absolutely LOVES it!

  3. Such a cutie pie! One thing I found though is that first babies tend to grow up quicker than subsequent babies! My second son is still to me a baby at 15 months old!! Where-as my first son seemed like a toddler before he even turned one! She does look grown up though, on her little bike. She is so adorable! x

  4. Thanks! I hadn't given a trike a thought until I saw Kennedy so adorable on hers...I may need to rethink :-)
