About Me

Putting it simply, my life's dream was to marry a wonderful man, and have a family.  Dream accomplished.  But there's a lot more to me than that.

The Beginning of Us
I met the man of my dreams when I was 20.  Okay, so I ignored him for about a week.  What can I say, I wasn't expecting that the Human Resources guy who was at benefit sign up would be my future husband and the father of my children?  Once I finally talked to him, I realized there was something different about him.  In fact, two weeks after I met him....before we had even been on a date, I told my Aunt Michelle, "I'm going to marry this guy."  She thought I was crazy.  Nine months later, he was transferred from North Carolina to Florida for work.  I was reluctant to leave my really good job, but after a year of dating long distance, I made the move to Florida.  Seven and a half years later Aunt Michelle attended our wedding.  In the time we dated, we had an awesome time!  We did a lot of traveling, and lived a care free life.

Three months into our relationship, Marlon took me on our first cruise!

A quick trip to Panama City Beach!

A surprise trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico!

Visiting Canandaigua Lake, New York

Thanksgiving in Virginia Beach

Stranded (literally) in New York City, for the blizzard of 2009.

The Proposal
After seven years, it finally happened!  Marlon send me flowers at work on a Friday afternoon.  The card read, "This is the first surprise of many, and the first clue in our Amazing Race weekend."  The next morning, I flew to North Carolina to meet up with him.  The weekend was truly an Amazing Race, with a lot of clues.  One of the clues led me to the office where we met - and he popped the question!

Our Engagement Photos

The Wedding
Marlon and I got married on May 15, 2010.  It was truly the wedding of our dreams.  I won't bore you with some of the 12,000 pictures that I have on my computer - but I will include the slide show of images from our photographer.

After the Wedding
We got pregnant.  Yes, pretty much right after the wedding.  On our "one month anniversary" I told my husband we were expecting our first baby.  What an awesome gift to give him.  The timing could not have been more perfect.  The following month we moved into our new home.  In December, I resigned from my job.  I should mention, that I have a Bachelors and Masters degree in Health Care Administration, and have worked in the health care industry since I was 18.  I did everything from Medical Assisting to traveling the country as a Sales Manager.  We always knew I would be a stay at home mom.  But two weeks before Christmas, I became a stay at home mom in waiting.  It was so nice to have the extra time to prepare for Kennedy!  I also won't bore you with the 500+ maternity photos that were taken, but here are a few favorites!

Life With Kennedy
We are just beginning our journey with Kennedy.  She is the most amazing baby, and we are truly blessed to have such a wonderful daughter.  I can honestly say that I love her more than anything, and she has changed my life in ways that I never could have imagined.  I know that she will bring endless joy to our lives, and to the lives of many.  I hope that this blog can someday provide information and inspiration for others, just as the many blogs I've read have helped me transition into our new life.
